... said Zatanna. Or so I imagine =)

Man, I don't know about you guys, but 2012 has been a fantastic year for me artistically. I've posted more work (and drawn more work than I've posted) more in this year than in all my 4 years on dA. I finally got a Facebook and Tumblr page; I've practiced, and still continue to practice Watercolors/Pastels; I've slowly come more and more into my own style, perfecting pencils and inks alike -- and I've met some fantastic people all on the way :D

This is probably the last actual piece I'll be submitting for the year, and in a way it's a tribute to the characters whom brought me much of my success this year due to each series I have them: Scarlet Witch & Zatanna, Batgirl & Supergirl. It seems I'm probably going to be retiring this quartet, if 2013 shapes up to be as hectic as it's planned... I'll be Facebooking more, blogging more, drawing more, and having little time to indulge myself in drawing these ladies.

But who knows, with a little free time... and just because I'm retiring them doesn't mean I can't unretire them. We'll see. ;)

Many special thanks to my girls who made this series possible, whether through actual modeling/reference or simply through inspiration as a muse:

And of course, many thanks to my wonderful watchers, who put up with the scarcity of my art, feature me when they don't have to and generally put up with my laziness. You already know you're that awesome.

Looks like I'm done here. See you in the future.

And one more thing: stay gold.

Your inking has improved a lot over the last year! Your lines are a lot cleaner now concerning inks and pencils alike. [link] was probably my favourite drawing you uploaded this year.
If I had to find something to criticise I'd say you could work on your feathering and lineweight.
Keep it up and make 2013 an even better year for you! ;)

Yeah, that one seemed to be a fan favorite :)

Many thanks for the compliments, Jonas. Your advice has been extremely invaluable throughout this year! Might I ask your opinion on that said feathering and lineweight? ;)

And of course, Happy New year!

Glad I could help you out!
Well, in my opinion you should try to taper your lines in those areas where hatching meets flat blacks.
Black to thick to thin instead of black to thin so to speak. Or you could just tighten up your cross hatching
the closer you get to the blacks.
One of the best decisions I made this year was to start using a brush more often so that's something I'd recommend. My art is much more dynamic now(imo) and inking is fun now instead of a pain in the ass.
Hope you know what I mean...I guess I need to work on my english. Still having a hard time expressing my thoughts.
Happy New Year, Eli!

Nah, your english is perfect. That was more advice I would've paid for :D

I see what you mean with the crosshatching. For the look I'd like to achieve, I should probably tighten it up the closer it gets to the blacks (I've done it before), but THAT is a pain to have to do when you crosshatch as much as me lol. Still, labor of love, so it's something I'll end up doing anyway =P

Thanks again!
